The Fellowship Programme is designed to foster an exchange of knowledge and expertise, and to encourage international partnerships of all kinds in the furtherance of our mission. As a result, the program provides a basis for establishing lasting ties among individuals, institutions and organisations that are committed to improving vision and eye care globally.
Fellowships are granted to candidates with a commitment to service in both the public and private sectors, specifically in optometric education, patient care and community service, and organisational leadership. The Fellowship Program works to deliberately build human networks that are dedicated to the vision and eye care needs of the world. Fellowships can range from one month to two years in duration.
Fellows are placed based on the needs of the host country and the special expertise of the fellow. Each fellowship requires a pre-approved program plan with specific action plan and program evaluation strategies. The WOF has received significant funding from an individual donor and HOYA Vision Care.
If you wish to apply for a fellowship, please see below more information about the new Fellowship Programme and the Application Form.
The deadline for submission of the applications for the second period of the year will be confirm shortly.
