The Fellowship Programme provides financial assistance to optometrists around the world who are committed to improving vision and eye care globally.
This assistance allows optometrists to share knowledge and expertise, encourages international partnerships, and builds a network of individuals, institutions and organisations who are all working to improve eye care
Fellowships are granted to candidates with a commitment to service in both the public and private sectors, specifically in optometric education, patient care and community service, and organisational leadership.
Fellows are placed based on the needs of the host country and the special expertise of the fellow. Each fellowship requires a pre-approved programme plan with specific action plan and evaluation strategies.
The programme can provide optometrists with:
• travel bursaries (maximum £1,800)
• technical support for WCO projects (maximum £3,000 per year, for up-to two years)
