Elections 2011
The Articles of Association of WCO state that members and regional organizations should be notified of a vacancy for President-elect 6 months in advance of the date of the General Delegates Meeting and that nominations should be received 3 months in advance of the meeting, although this can be extended by one month.
Please note that all nominations should be signed by either 2 members in your region, OR 2 officers from your regional organisation. The nominee must agree to the nomination and sign the form.
Please note that Article 8.14 does not permit nomination from a person who is a member of a national organization in the same region as the national organization of which the current President-elect is a member. This means that nominations cannot be made for this election by any country in the region covered by ECOO as the current President-elect, Tone Garaas-Maurdalen, is a member of the Norwegian Optometric Association.
The curriculum vitae of the nominee, together with a statement of why the nominee wishes to be elected, should accompany the nomination form.

All nominations received by the deadline of 15 February will be circulated to WCO members in advance of the election, which will take place by secret ballot at the General Delegates Meeting in Puerto Rico on 15 April 2011
