Scope of Practice Questionnaire

The WCO Legislation, Registration and Standards Committee on has been developing a questionnaire to capture data on the scope of practice across the world. This work has been funded jointly by the Norwegian Association of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in the UK.

Last year the survey was piloted with members of WCO’s Governing Board and members of the Professional Services Committee of the European Council of Optometry and Optics. The questionnaire was revised as a result of feedback obtained during the pilot, and we would like to invite your country to participate in the survey.

As you will see, it is important that there is one contact person in each country who is responsible for completing and submitting the questionnaire, in consultation with any other members in your country. Please could you identify that person, and notify Pelle Knusden at pelle@optikerforbund.no. Pelle will then send that person a unique username and password. If you have previously submitted a questionnaire for your country as part of the pilot, you may use the same username and password. If you have forgotten this, please contact Pelle Knusden.

The survey will be used as a tool for analysing gaps so that all member countries and regions of WCO can use the information collated when preparing their own strategies for developing optometry in their own country/region. This clearly represents a very valuable member benefit as most of the data will only be available for internal use by member countries and regions. .
